‘Eat, Drink and Be Merry’
What better way to start a Blogmas series than with a collection of the festive drinks that are being sold in stores?
I am going to start with the Festive Costa menu;
They have their trusty Billionaires collection that consists of a Hot Chocolate, a Latte and a Frostino. This drink is totally inspired by the favourite treat of shortbread, caramel and chocolate. I mean, what isn’t there to love about this?
The Black Forest Hot Chocolate has returned for another year, but this time there is a Frostino to accompany this. With a dash of sour cherry syrup mixed with the drink, cream cherry sauce and some chocolate flakes on the top this is giving me full Christmas vibes.
A personal favourite from the Christmas range is undoubtedly the Gingerbread Latte. Mixed with the coffee itself is a gingerbread flavoured syrup. The drink is then finished with a squirt of cream, gingerbread crumbs and Charlie the mini gingerbread man (Yes, he is back!)
Honeycomb latte is something I personally can’t enjoy. The latte itself has honeycomb syrup mixed in and is finished off with a generous amount of honeycomb pieces on the top.
Salted Caramel Cappuccino, now this is something more tailored for me! A normal cappuccino is great, but when there is a salted caramel syrup going through the drink, can anyone honestly say no? (If you agree that you can, then please stop lying to yourself!) The top is then finished off with crumbs and cubes of caramel fudge.
I am such a sucker when it comes to a hot chocolate and when the mint one comes out I just have to have one myself. With a minty syrup running through the liquid there is a subtle but noticeable hint. Finished off with a squirt of cream and some green sparkly shimmer crumbs, I mean what says Christmas more than that?!
The last, a so simple yet so delightful the Lindt Hot Chocolate. Mixing the signature Costa hot chocolate and a Lindt hot chocolate, what more could a chocolate fiend want?
Starbucks, I feel they haven’t given as much this year as they have previously, or possibly I am writing this far too early?
The first I seen on their menu was the Eggnog Latte, this is not something I am very familiar with as I am not really sure what eggnog actually is? I am aware that the latte itself is sprinkled with nutmeg powder, and finished with some cream and more nutmeg powder on the top.
The Gingerbread latte is up next, in competition with the Costa one! This, as with the Costa one, is laced with Gingerbread syrup through the drink. This is finished off with a squirt of cream and a sugar wafer.
Toffee Nut Latte, with a toffee nut syrup mixed with the latte itself and whole hazelnuts going on the top of this drink, what could a nut lover want more than this?
Fudge Hot Chocolate, for all of the chocoholics out there, this is for you! Mixing the Starbucks traditional hot chocolate with a fudge flavouring and finishing with a chocolate fudge cream and golden chocolate flakes, they couldn’t put any more chocolate into it!
The last is the Festive Cold Brew. This is made with some of their Christmas Spiced Syrup (no more information on this one, because of the secret recipe!) They then add some orange peel and dried cranberries within the drink, to give it the Christmassy feel.
What is your favourite festive drink this year? Jade xo
