Makeup Must Haves | Blogmas

12th December

‘ A woman can never have too much makeup. ‘

I feel I haven’t managed to mix Makeup and Christmas very much this Blogmas, which is why I am giving you a list of my top 10 makeup products for the Winter! Even if you already have these you need to add them to your Christmas Wishlist! You can never have too much makeup, and backups are always handy!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. If you haven’t heard anything about this then where have you been? At a price of less than £5, you get yourself a full coverage concealer. This comes with the traditional doe foot applicator, in three different shades. This concealer will crease if you do not powder after, but that’s the only negative I can say about this product. It gives you full coverage on your face and under your eyes, it doesn’t oxidize or change colour.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Kit. I actually received this in my Advent Calander this year, I am so in love with this. It has a pink and yellow powder for setting under the eye area. As well as that there are two highlighting shades, one is a shimmery white with gold glitter, the other is more of a subtle matte everyday colour. There are then four darker colours, two warmer colours perfect for bronzing, one has a cooler undertone better for contouring the cheekbones. The last shade is a shimmery bronze. This is perfect for people with a darker skin tone as a highlight, I like to use this as a little extra something in my bronzer.

Freedom Brow Pomade. This pomade combined with a small angled brush makes for the perfect brow. This product is of the perfect consistency to use alone, brushed straight onto the brow. It stays all day with no need to set or gel it down, I like to just to create a fuller brow look. You can create a natural brow with this, or you could create an ‘insta-brow’ depending on how you want to use this.

NYX Vivid Liner. I think all of these colours are amazing, for the Christmas time I think the green is especially good. Green is such a Christmas colour, with it being the colour of the Christmas Tree, Mistletoe and a wreath – it’s amazing to create new looks with this colour. The nib is super thin to line the lashes yet thick enough to create a good sized wing. Its flexible enough to shape to your eyelid, yet hard enough to stay straight when drawing the wing. The colour stays all day without fading or smudging.

Nip + Fab Foundation. The one negative I have about this foundation is the bottle, it doesn’t have a pump – I much prefer them with a pump. Aside from that, the actual product itself is amazing. There is a range of 12 different shades with a white and a dark shade, which you can mix in with a foundation to create your perfect shade. It blends lovely with a sponge or a brush, it doesn’t go streaky or patchy when applied with either. I have rather dry skin, I don’t notice it clinging to my dry patches as much as a lot of others do! If you apply a thin layer it can be a very sheer foundation, but when layered it can become a full coverage, without it looking cakey.

Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette. I mean, it doesn’t need to be this particular one, but any of their eyeshadow palettes are amazing! I chose this one because it seems to be the one I am reaching for the most at the moment – possibly because of the shimmery shades being perfect for this time of year. They blend really nicely without losing their high pigment. It doesn’t fade or move throughout the day, even without an eye primer under. I also like this particular palette a lot because of the number of different looks you can create with just the one palette.

Makeup Academy Prism Strobe Cream (Flash). I love mixing this with my foundation to create a more glowing finish. A dewy finish isn’t always in fashion in the winter months, but this makes you look more ‘fresh-faced’ than dewy. It’s something I am really enjoying at the moment, it kind of makes you look like you have been outside in the cold for a while. I also like to apply this directly onto the cheekbones under or on top of the foundation I apply. I prefer it under because I feel it brakes up certain foundations a little.

What would be your makeup must-haves this year? Jade xo
