‘Faith is believing in something when common sense tells you not to’

Christmas movies are the best way to get into the Christmas spirit, without them I don’t know how I would spend every evening in December!

8 Below: This isn’t necessarily a Christmas movie, but the only time I and my family watch it is at Christmas time. I was introduced to this movie by my step-father and it quickly became a favourite of mine. With a story of 8 sledge dogs trying to survive the winter of the Antarctica without their owner, who had no choice but to leave them behind after an accident, will they make it through?

The Muppets Christmas Carol: With The Muppets being many peoples favourite characters of their childhood, they manage to make their own twist of the traditional Christmas carol story.

Miracle on 34th Street: A Christmas favourite among people of all ages. A young girl and a Lawyer join forces to prove to the general public that Santa Claus is real, will they manage to help people to believe in Santa again?

The Nightmare Before Christmas: The time between Halloween and Christmas I am forever feeling a little bit lost, but I feel this movie can help anyone with that. Mixing the two holidays together in the film will make you feel the Christmas spirit before Halloween is even over (Which is around the time all of the Christmas things come into the store!)

Nativity!: A great movie for the whole family. Based on the problems of a school nativity play, the whole family will enjoy this comedy.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas: People who hate the Christmas spirit could even love this movie. When the main character, the Grinch, who hates Christmas is planning to ruin the holiday season for the whole of his town. Can they save the Christmas in Whoville?

Gremlins: Ignoring the main rules of his new little pet, the Gremlin grows and destroys them. Right before the Christmas time, can the little boy find the Gremlins and bring them back to home before Christmas day?

Home Alone: A large family leaves their 8-year-old son at home while they are on their annual vacation, the son must protect the house from the two burglars which are trying to get in. If you haven’t seen this movie, this is a must for the Christmas time!

Love Actually: Not only a classic for the Christmas time but all year round! A movie about the lives of 8 love stories and their busy time in the month before Christmas,

Elf: I left the best until last, my all time favourite Christmas movie, not only because of Will Ferrell (but mostly). The human who is raised by elves goes on a mission to find his real father in New York, you follow his journey and how the meeting with his father. This is a movie for the whole family to enjoy the Christmas Spirit for the children and the humour for the adults.
